Chapter 19

1 And it came to pass,1961 when king4428 Hezekiah2396 heard8085 it, that he rent7167 853 his clothes,899 and covered himself3680 with sackcloth,8242 and went935 into the house1004 of the LORD.3068

2 And he sent7971 853 Eliakim,471 which834 was over5921 the household,1004 and Shebna7644 the scribe,5608 and the elders2205 of the priests,3548 covered3680 with sackcloth,8242 to413 Isaiah3470 the prophet5030 the son1121 of Amoz.531

3 And they said559 unto413 him, Thus3541 saith559 Hezekiah,2396 This2088 day3117 is a day3117 of trouble,6869 and of rebuke,8433 and blasphemy:5007 for3588 the children1121 are come935 to5704 the birth,4866 and there is not369 strength3581 to bring forth.3205

4 It may be194 the LORD3068 thy God430 will hear8085 853 all3605 the words1697 of Rab-shakeh,7262 whom834 the king4428 of Assyria804 his master113 hath sent7971 to reproach2778 the living2416 God;430 and will reprove3198 the words1697 which834 the LORD3068 thy God430 hath heard:8085 wherefore lift up5375 thy prayer8605 for1157 the remnant7611 that are left.4672

5 So the servants5650 of king4428 Hezekiah2396 came935 to413 Isaiah.3470

6 And Isaiah3470 said559 unto them, Thus3541 shall ye say559 to413 your master,113 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Be not afraid408 3372 of4480 6440 the words1697 which834 thou hast heard,8085 with which834 the servants5288 of the king4428 of Assyria804 have blasphemed1442 me.

7 Behold,2009 I will send5414 a blast7307 upon him, and he shall hear8085 a rumor,8052 and shall return7725 to his own land;776 and I will cause him to fall5307 by the sword2719 in his own land.776

8 So Rab-shakeh7262 returned,7725 and found4672 853 the king4428 of Assyria804 warring3898 against5921 Libnah:3841 for3588 he had heard8085 that3588 he was departed5265 from Lachish.4480 3923

9 And when he heard8085 say559 of413 Tirhakah8640 king4428 of Ethiopia,3568 Behold,2009 he is come out3318 to fight3898 against854 thee: he sent7971 messengers4397 again7725 unto413 Hezekiah,2396 saying,559

10 Thus3541 shall ye speak559 to413 Hezekiah2396 king4428 of Judah,3063 saying,559 Let not408 thy God430 in whom834 thou859 trustest982 deceive5377 thee, saying,559 Jerusalem3389 shall not3808 be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Assyria.804

11 Behold,2009 thou859 hast heard8085 853 what834 the kings4428 of Assyria804 have done6213 to all3605 lands,776 by destroying them utterly:2763 and shalt thou859 be delivered?5337

12 Have the gods430 of the nations1471 delivered5337 them which834 my fathers1 have destroyed;7843 as853 Gozan,1470 and Haran,2771 and Rezeph,7530 and the children1121 of Eden5729 which834 were in Thelasar?8515

13 Where346 is the king4428 of Hamath,2574 and the king4428 of Arpad,774 and the king4428 of the city5892 of Sepharvaim,5617 of Hena,2012 and Ivah?5755

14 And Hezekiah2396 received3947 853 the letter5612 of the hand4480 3027 of the messengers,4397 and read7121 it: and Hezekiah2396 went up5927 into the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and spread6566 it before6440 the LORD.3068

15 And Hezekiah2396 prayed6419 before6440 the LORD,3068 and said,559 O LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 which dwellest3427 between the cherubims,3742 thou859 art the God,430 even thou alone,905 of all3605 the kingdoms4467 of the earth;776 thou859 hast made6213 853 heaven8064 and earth.776

16 LORD,3068 bow down5186 thine ear,241 and hear:8085 open,6491 LORD,3068 thine eyes,5869 and see:7200 and hear8085 853 the words1697 of Sennacherib,5576 which834 hath sent7971 him to reproach2778 the living2416 God.430

17 Of a truth,546 LORD,3068 the kings4428 of Assyria804 have destroyed2717 the nations1471 and853 their lands,776

18 And have cast5414 853 their gods430 into the fire:784 for3588 they1992 were no3808 gods,430 but3588 518 the work4639 of men's120 hands,3027 wood6086 and stone:68 therefore they have destroyed6 them.

19 Now6258 therefore, O LORD3068 our God,430 I beseech thee,4994 save3467 thou us out of his hand,4480 3027 that all3605 the kingdoms4467 of the earth776 may know3045 that3588 thou859 art the LORD3068 God,430 even thou only.905

20 Then Isaiah3470 the son1121 of Amoz531 sent7971 to413 Hezekiah,2396 saying,559 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel,3478 That which834 thou hast prayed6419 to413 me against413 Sennacherib5576 king4428 of Assyria804 I have heard.8085

21 This2088 is the word1697 that834 the LORD3068 hath spoken1696 concerning5921 him; The virgin1330 the daughter1323 of Zion6726 hath despised959 thee, and laughed thee to scorn;3932 the daughter1323 of Jerusalem3389 hath shaken5128 her head7218 at310 thee.

22 853 Whom4310 hast thou reproached2778 and blasphemed?1442 and against5921 whom4310 hast thou exalted7311 thy voice,6963 and lifted up5375 thine eyes5869 on high?4791 even against5921 the Holy6918 One of Israel.3478

23 By3027 thy messengers4397 thou hast reproached2778 the Lord,136 and hast said,559 With the multitude7230 of my chariots7393 I589 am come up5927 to the height4791 of the mountains,2022 to the sides3411 of Lebanon,3844 and will cut down3772 the tall6967 cedar trees730 thereof, and the choice4004 fir trees1265 thereof: and I will enter935 into the lodgings4411 of his borders,7093 and into the forest3293 of his Carmel.3760

24 I589 have digged6979 and drunk8354 strange2114 waters,4325 and with the sole3709 of my feet6471 have I dried up2717 all3605 the rivers2975 of besieged places.4693

25 Hast thou not3808 heard8085 long ago4480 7350 how I have done6213 it, and of ancient times4480 3117 6924 that I have formed3335 it? now6258 have I brought it to pass,935 that thou shouldest be1961 to lay waste7582 fenced1219 cities5892 into ruinous5327 heaps.1530

26 Therefore their inhabitants3427 were of small7116 power,3027 they were dismayed2865 and confounded;954 they were1961 as the grass6212 of the field,7704 and as the green3419 herb,1877 as the grass2682 on the housetops,1406 and as corn blasted7711 before6440 it be grown up.7054

27 But I know3045 thy abode,3427 and thy going out,3318 and thy coming in,935 and thy rage7264 against413 me.

28 Because3282 thy rage7264 against413 me and thy tumult7600 is come up5927 into mine ears,241 therefore I will put7760 my hook2397 in thy nose,639 and my bridle4964 in thy lips,8193 and I will turn thee back7725 by the way1870 by which834 thou camest.935

29 And this2088 shall be a sign226 unto thee, Ye shall eat398 this year8141 such things as grow of themselves,5599 and in the second8145 year8141 that which springeth of the same;7823 and in the third7992 year8141 sow2232 ye, and reap,7114 and plant5193 vineyards,3754 and eat398 the fruits6529 thereof.

30 And the remnant7604 that is escaped6413 of the house1004 of Judah3063 shall yet again3254 take root8328 downward,4295 and bear6213 fruit6529 upward.4605

31 For3588 out of Jerusalem4480 3389 shall go forth3318 a remnant,7611 and they that escape6413 out of mount4480 2022 Zion:6726 the zeal7068 of the LORD3068 of hosts shall do6213 this.2063

32 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 concerning413 the king4428 of Assyria,804 He shall not3808 come935 into413 this2063 city,5892 nor3808 shoot3384 an arrow2671 there,8033 nor3808 come before6923 it with shield,4043 nor3808 cast8210 a bank5550 against5921 it.

33 By the way1870 that834 he came,935 by the same shall he return,7725 and shall not3808 come935 into413 this2063 city,5892 saith5002 the LORD.3068

34 For I will defend1598 413 this2063 city,5892 to save3467 it, for mine own sake,4616 and for my servant5650 David's1732 sake.4616

35 And it came to pass1961 that1931 night,3915 that the angel4397 of the LORD3068 went out,3318 and smote5221 in the camp4264 of the Assyrians804 a hundred3967 fourscore8084 and five2568 thousand:505 and when they arose early7925 in the morning,1242 behold,2009 they were all3605 dead4191 corpses.6297

36 So Sennacherib5576 king4428 of Assyria804 departed,5265 and went1980 and returned,7725 and dwelt3427 at Nineveh.5210

37 And it came to pass,1961 as he1931 was worshiping7812 in the house1004 of Nisroch5268 his god,430 that Adrammelech152 and Sharezer8272 his sons1121 smote5221 him with the sword:2719 and they1992 escaped4422 into the land776 of Armenia.780 And Esarhaddon634 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

2 Езекия послал начальника царского дворца Еликима, секретаря Севну и старших священников к пророку Исаии, сыну Амоса. Они были одеты в траурную одежду.

3 Они сказали ему: «Царь Езекия приказывает: „Пусть этот день станет особым днём скорби и печали, подобно тому дню, когда приходит время родиться младенцу, но нет сил ему появиться на свет.

4 Господин военачальника, ассирийский царь, послал его оскорбить Бога живого. Может быть, Господь, твой Бог, услышит эти слова и докажет, что враг неправ! Так помолись за людей, которые ещё живы”».

5 Когда слуги царя Езекии пришли к Исаии,

6 он сказал им: «Передайте своему господину, что говорит Господь: „Не бойся слов, которые слуги ассирийского царя говорили обо Мне, насмехаясь надо Мной.

7 Я пошлю дух против него, и царь услышит весть о том, что его жизнь в опасности. Тогда он возвратится в свою страну, и Я сделаю так, что он будет убит мечом в его земле”».

8 Военачальник услышал, что ассирийский царь ушёл из Лахиса. Когда он прибыл к своему царю, тот воевал против Ливны.

9 Затем ассирийский царь услышал весть о Тиргаке, эфиопском царе. Ему сообщили: «Тиргак вышел сразиться с тобой!» Тогда ассирийский царь снова отправил послов к Езекии сказать:

10 «Скажите Езекии, иудейскому царю: „Не позволяй Богу, Которому ты доверяешь, обманывать тебя и говорить, что ассирийский царь не захватит Иерусалим!

11 Ты слышал о том, что ассирийские цари сделали с другими странами. Мы уничтожили их полностью. Так спасёшься ли ты? Нет!

12 Боги тех народов, которые были разбиты моими предками, не спасли их. Они уничтожили Гозан, Харан, Рецев и народ Эдема в Фалассаре!

13 Где царь Емафа? Где царь Арпада, царь города Сепарваим, цари Ены и Иввы?”»

14 Езекия получил письмо от послов и прочитал его. Затем он пошёл в храм Господа и развернул письмо перед Господом.

15 Езекия молился перед Господом такими словами: «Господи, Бог Израиля, Царь, восседающий на Херувимах. Ты — единственный Бог, Который правит всеми царствами земли. Ты сотворил небеса и землю!

16 Господи, услышь меня. Господи, открой Свои глаза и посмотри на эти письма. Услышь слова Сеннахирима, оскорбляющие Бога живого!

17 Это правда, о Господи, что ассирийские цари уничтожили все эти народы.

18 Они сожгли богов этих народов в огне. Но это были не боги, а всего лишь дерево и камень — статуи, сделанные руками человека. Поэтому ассирийские цари и смогли их уничтожить.

19 И теперь, Господи, Бог наш, спаси нас от ассирийского царя. Тогда все царства земли узнают, что Ты, Господи, единственный Бог».

20 Исаия, сын Амоса, послал к Езекии сказать: «Так говорит Господь, Бог Израиля: „Ты молился Мне о письме Сеннахирима, ассирийского царя, и Я услышал тебя”.

21 Вот что говорит Господь о Сеннахириме: „Девственная дочь Сиона (Иерусалим)

22 Кого ты оскорблял? Над кем ты насмехался?

23 Ты отправил своих послов, чтобы Господа оскорбить. Ты сказал: „Со своими колесницами я взошёл на высокие горы. Я зашёл вглубь Ливана. Я срубил высочайшие кедры и лучшие кипарисы Ливана. Я пришёл в самую дальнюю часть Ливана, в самый густой из его лесов.

24 Я откапывал родники и пил воду из новых источников. Я осушил все реки Египта ступнями моих ног”.

25 Но разве ты не слышал Мои слова? Я (Бог) задумал это давно, ещё в древние времена, а теперь Я это осуществил. Я позволил тебе снести укреплённые города, превращая их в груды развалин.

26 У жителей тех городов не было сил. Они были напуганы и пристыжены. Они падут словно скошенная трава в полях, как мох на крышах, погибнут, не набрав силы.

27 Я знаю о твоём каждом шаге, Я знаю о твоём каждом движении. Я также знаю твою злобу против Меня.

28 Ты питал презрение ко Мне. Я слышал твою гордую дерзость. За это Я вложу кольцо в твои ноздри, и удила в рот твой. А потом Я возвращу тебя назад той же дорогой, которой ты пришёл”».

29 «Езекия, это будет знамением, подтверждающим то, что Я помогу тебе: в этом году вы будете есть то, что вырастет само собой. На второй год вы будете есть то, что вырастет из этого зерна, а на третий год вы будете собирать урожай с тех зёрен, которые посадите. Вы посадите виноградные сады и будете есть их плоды.

30 Люди из рода Иуды, которые спаслись и уцелели подобно саженцам, укоренятся и снова будут приносить плоды.

31 Те немногие, кто остались в живых, выйдут из Иерусалима; те, кто спаслись, пойдут от горы Сион. Великая любовь Господа Всемогущего совершит всё это.

32 Поэтому так говорит Господь об ассирийском царе: „Он не войдёт в этот город. Он не пустит туда стрелы. Не принесёт он к городу свои щиты, и не построит он вал земляной, чтобы напасть на этот город.

33 Той же дорогой, которой пришёл, он и вернётся, и в город этот он не войдёт. Так говорит Господь!

34 Я защищу этот город и спасу его. Я сделаю это ради Себя и ради слуги Моего, Давида”».

35 В ту ночь Ангел Господа пошёл и убил сто восемьдесят пять тысяч человек в ассирийском лагере. Когда оставшиеся в живых воины встали на следующее утро, то увидели повсюду мёртвые тела.

36 Сеннахирим, ассирийский царь, возвратился в Ниневию и остался там.

37 Однажды, когда Сеннахирим поклонялся в храме Нисрожа, своего бога, его сыновья Адрамелех и Шарецер убили его мечом, а сами убежали в Араратскую землю. После него царём стал его сын Асардан.

6 And Isaiah3470 said559 unto them, Thus3541 shall ye say559 to413 your master,113 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Be not afraid408 3372 of4480 6440 the words1697 which834 thou hast heard,8085 with which834 the servants5288 of the king4428 of Assyria804 have blasphemed1442 me.

6 он сказал им: «Передайте своему господину, что говорит Господь: „Не бойся слов, которые слуги ассирийского царя говорили обо Мне, насмехаясь надо Мной.

7 Behold,2009 I will send5414 a blast7307 upon him, and he shall hear8085 a rumor,8052 and shall return7725 to his own land;776 and I will cause him to fall5307 by the sword2719 in his own land.776

7 Я пошлю дух против него, и царь услышит весть о том, что его жизнь в опасности. Тогда он возвратится в свою страну, и Я сделаю так, что он будет убит мечом в его земле”».

8 Военачальник услышал, что ассирийский царь ушёл из Лахиса. Когда он прибыл к своему царю, тот воевал против Ливны.

11 Ты слышал о том, что ассирийские цари сделали с другими странами. Мы уничтожили их полностью. Так спасёшься ли ты? Нет!

16 Господи, услышь меня. Господи, открой Свои глаза и посмотри на эти письма. Услышь слова Сеннахирима, оскорбляющие Бога живого!

20 Исаия, сын Амоса, послал к Езекии сказать: «Так говорит Господь, Бог Израиля: „Ты молился Мне о письме Сеннахирима, ассирийского царя, и Я услышал тебя”.

23 By3027 thy messengers4397 thou hast reproached2778 the Lord,136 and hast said,559 With the multitude7230 of my chariots7393 I589 am come up5927 to the height4791 of the mountains,2022 to the sides3411 of Lebanon,3844 and will cut down3772 the tall6967 cedar trees730 thereof, and the choice4004 fir trees1265 thereof: and I will enter935 into the lodgings4411 of his borders,7093 and into the forest3293 of his Carmel.3760

23 Ты отправил своих послов, чтобы Господа оскорбить. Ты сказал: „Со своими колесницами я взошёл на высокие горы. Я зашёл вглубь Ливана. Я срубил высочайшие кедры и лучшие кипарисы Ливана. Я пришёл в самую дальнюю часть Ливана, в самый густой из его лесов.

24 Я откапывал родники и пил воду из новых источников. Я осушил все реки Египта ступнями моих ног”.

25 Hast thou not3808 heard8085 long ago4480 7350 how I have done6213 it, and of ancient times4480 3117 6924 that I have formed3335 it? now6258 have I brought it to pass,935 that thou shouldest be1961 to lay waste7582 fenced1219 cities5892 into ruinous5327 heaps.1530

25 Но разве ты не слышал Мои слова? Я (Бог) задумал это давно, ещё в древние времена, а теперь Я это осуществил. Я позволил тебе снести укреплённые города, превращая их в груды развалин.

26 Therefore their inhabitants3427 were of small7116 power,3027 they were dismayed2865 and confounded;954 they were1961 as the grass6212 of the field,7704 and as the green3419 herb,1877 as the grass2682 on the housetops,1406 and as corn blasted7711 before6440 it be grown up.7054

26 У жителей тех городов не было сил. Они были напуганы и пристыжены. Они падут словно скошенная трава в полях, как мох на крышах, погибнут, не набрав силы.

27 But I know3045 thy abode,3427 and thy going out,3318 and thy coming in,935 and thy rage7264 against413 me.

27 Я знаю о твоём каждом шаге, Я знаю о твоём каждом движении. Я также знаю твою злобу против Меня.

28 Because3282 thy rage7264 against413 me and thy tumult7600 is come up5927 into mine ears,241 therefore I will put7760 my hook2397 in thy nose,639 and my bridle4964 in thy lips,8193 and I will turn thee back7725 by the way1870 by which834 thou camest.935

28 Ты питал презрение ко Мне. Я слышал твою гордую дерзость. За это Я вложу кольцо в твои ноздри, и удила в рот твой. А потом Я возвращу тебя назад той же дорогой, которой ты пришёл”».

29 And this2088 shall be a sign226 unto thee, Ye shall eat398 this year8141 such things as grow of themselves,5599 and in the second8145 year8141 that which springeth of the same;7823 and in the third7992 year8141 sow2232 ye, and reap,7114 and plant5193 vineyards,3754 and eat398 the fruits6529 thereof.

29 «Езекия, это будет знамением, подтверждающим то, что Я помогу тебе: в этом году вы будете есть то, что вырастет само собой. На второй год вы будете есть то, что вырастет из этого зерна, а на третий год вы будете собирать урожай с тех зёрен, которые посадите. Вы посадите виноградные сады и будете есть их плоды.

30 And the remnant7604 that is escaped6413 of the house1004 of Judah3063 shall yet again3254 take root8328 downward,4295 and bear6213 fruit6529 upward.4605

30 Люди из рода Иуды, которые спаслись и уцелели подобно саженцам, укоренятся и снова будут приносить плоды.

31 For3588 out of Jerusalem4480 3389 shall go forth3318 a remnant,7611 and they that escape6413 out of mount4480 2022 Zion:6726 the zeal7068 of the LORD3068 of hosts shall do6213 this.2063

31 Те немногие, кто остались в живых, выйдут из Иерусалима; те, кто спаслись, пойдут от горы Сион. Великая любовь Господа Всемогущего совершит всё это.

32 Therefore3651 thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 concerning413 the king4428 of Assyria,804 He shall not3808 come935 into413 this2063 city,5892 nor3808 shoot3384 an arrow2671 there,8033 nor3808 come before6923 it with shield,4043 nor3808 cast8210 a bank5550 against5921 it.

32 Поэтому так говорит Господь об ассирийском царе: „Он не войдёт в этот город. Он не пустит туда стрелы. Не принесёт он к городу свои щиты, и не построит он вал земляной, чтобы напасть на этот город.

33 By the way1870 that834 he came,935 by the same shall he return,7725 and shall not3808 come935 into413 this2063 city,5892 saith5002 the LORD.3068

33 Той же дорогой, которой пришёл, он и вернётся, и в город этот он не войдёт. Так говорит Господь!

34 For I will defend1598 413 this2063 city,5892 to save3467 it, for mine own sake,4616 and for my servant5650 David's1732 sake.4616

34 Я защищу этот город и спасу его. Я сделаю это ради Себя и ради слуги Моего, Давида”».

35 And it came to pass1961 that1931 night,3915 that the angel4397 of the LORD3068 went out,3318 and smote5221 in the camp4264 of the Assyrians804 a hundred3967 fourscore8084 and five2568 thousand:505 and when they arose early7925 in the morning,1242 behold,2009 they were all3605 dead4191 corpses.6297

35 В ту ночь Ангел Господа пошёл и убил сто восемьдесят пять тысяч человек в ассирийском лагере. Когда оставшиеся в живых воины встали на следующее утро, то увидели повсюду мёртвые тела.

36 So Sennacherib5576 king4428 of Assyria804 departed,5265 and went1980 and returned,7725 and dwelt3427 at Nineveh.5210

36 Сеннахирим, ассирийский царь, возвратился в Ниневию и остался там.

37 And it came to pass,1961 as he1931 was worshiping7812 in the house1004 of Nisroch5268 his god,430 that Adrammelech152 and Sharezer8272 his sons1121 smote5221 him with the sword:2719 and they1992 escaped4422 into the land776 of Armenia.780 And Esarhaddon634 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

37 Однажды, когда Сеннахирим поклонялся в храме Нисрожа, своего бога, его сыновья Адрамелех и Шарецер убили его мечом, а сами убежали в Араратскую землю. После него царём стал его сын Асардан.
